The OG Videographers

They say to count your blessings and I do. There are so many things that I'm grateful for in my life, including the years that I've gotten paid to travel; capturing life on location around the globe.

Soon after graduating from Vancouver Film School in 2010, I moved to Los Angeles, California with a camera in my hands and an insatiable thirst for life off the beaten path.

After soaking in the Californian sun for many months, an interesting string of events took place and I ended up posted in the South Pacific as a Travel Videographer. Those were the days before Instagram and Tik Tok took off. I like to casually refer to us, fellow crew-members, as the "OG Videographers"; the pre-historical creatives.

My first work itinerary as a travel videographer included 4 of the French Polynesian islands and it brought me to Bora Bora on my birthday. I've always thought that I would get married in Bora Bora (slightly cliché - my apologies) and although I am still very much single, my first few weeks in the South Pacific will forever be defined in my mind as the era when I truly felt in love with my craft.

For me it's the people. Their natural beauty, their minimalist lifestyles, their essence and also their presence. That's how magic happens for me.

My photos that grace this post were taken in Nukubalavu Village in Fiji. If there was one place for me to choose to relocate to tomorrow, that's where I'd choose to start.

Thanks for reading!
