ZED Hotel Victoria

These pasts few years I've chosen to spend many of our family holidays exploring our communal backyard of coastal British Columbia, Canada. For this year's Spring Break, I've set sails on Victoria, a place I hadn't set a foot near since being a resident, back in 2004.

Hotel ZED Victoria did not disappoint. No crowds of spring breaking partiers wrecking havoc on our zen vibes. No piles of cans or bottles, no buffet lines and there was plenty of seats available around the hottub at only a fraction of the price of an overcrowded Mexican vacation. Sure it was at tad colder with daytime temps of around 13 celsius, yet it was nearly impossible to tell the difference while sitting in the outdoor hot tub, with no clouds in the sky, sheltered from the wind, all by ourselves in the middle of weekdays.

With free retro bikes and long boards rentals, a turntable stacked with records to listen to your favourites tunes while sipping on free-flowing bottomless coffee in the hotel lobby, Hotel ZED is bringing retro back! Some of my favourite moments were spent writing love anthems on typewriters, swimming for hours every day in the wonderful pool surrounded by retractable see-through garage doors and one evening spent playing Victoriapoly with one hand and ping-pong with the other.
